Trafodaethau partneriaeth Parc Howard

MAE Cyngor Sir Caerfyrddin a Chyngor Tref Llanelli mewn trafodaethau ynghylch rheoli Parc Howard yn y dyfodol.

Mae cynrychiolwyr o’r ddau gyngor wedi cytuno ar gyfres o gyfarfodydd i ystyried sut y gellir bwrw ati â threfniadau cydweithio er mwyn cynnal a gwella’r parc.

Rhoddir sylw i gynigion blaenorol ar gyfer y parc, yn ogystal â syniadau newydd i sicrhau ei ddyfodol yn y tymor hir o dan berchenogaeth y cyhoedd.

Ar hyn o bryd, caiff y parc a’r amgueddfa eu rheoli a’u cynnal gan Gyngor Sir Caerfyrddin ar ran pobl Llanelli a’r ardal ehangach.

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Peter Hughes Griffiths, yr Aelod o’r Bwrdd Gweithredol dros Ddiwylliant, Chwaraeon a Thwristiaeth: “Rwy’n croesawu’r cyfle hwn i barhau â’r trafodaethau partneriaeth a’r gobaith yw sicrhau trefniant cydweithio parhaol gyda Chyngor Tref Llanelli.”

Dywedodd y Cynghorydd Jan Williams, Arweinydd Cyngor Tref Llanelli: “Ein bwriad yw helpu i ariannu’r gwaith o reoli a gwella Parc Howard, a fydd yn helpu i sicrhau bod rhagor o welliannau’n cael eu gwneud i’r cyfleuster hwn, sy’n un pwysig i Lanelli. Ymhen amser, efallai y bydd hyn yn rhoi bod i sefyllfa lle gwelir y cyngor tref yn rheoli’r cyfleuster yn llawn. Yn y cyfamser, rwy’n edrych ymlaen at weithio mewn partneriaeth â’r cyngor sir.”

Parc Howard partnership discussions

CARMARTHENSHIRE County Council and Llanelli Town Council are in discussions about the future management of Parc Howard.

Representatives of both councils have agreed a series of meetings to consider how joint working arrangements can be taken forward to maintain and improve the park.

Previous proposals for the park will be explored, as well as new ideas to secure its long-term future under public ownership.

At present, the park and museum are managed and maintained by Carmarthenshire County Council on behalf of the people of Llanelli and the wider area.

Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths, county executive board member for culture, sport and tourism, said: “I welcome this opportunity to continue partnership discussions and to hopefully move to a permanent joint working arrangement with Llanelli Town Council.”

Cllr Jan Williams, Leader of Llanelli Town Council, said: “We are looking to help fund the management and improvement of Parc Howard which will help to ensure that this important facility for Llanelli is further improved. In time, this may pave the way for full management of the facility by the town council. In the meantime we look forward to working in partnership with the county council.”
