New initiative aims to find some of Battersea’s loneliest canine residents a look-a-like on their quest to find a forever home
A nationwide appeal by My Nametags to find human look-a-likes for the dogs at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home launched today, encouraging people to share images of their friends that bear a resemblance to the adorable canines.
The initiative, which aims to help seven of Battersea’s most loveable pets find a forever-home, has been launched by My Nametags, a British name tag and label company. The company is hoping to spread the word about the very special residents and encourage animal-lovers around the UK to have some fun and get involved via the My Nametags social media channels.
People from across the country are invited to participate by tagging a friend on the dedicated Facebook, Twitter or Instagram galleries for the chance to be featured on the My Nametags social pages.
Lars B. Andersen, Managing Director at My Nametags, said: “Following the success of our Doggie Doubles campaign, which saw the creation of a huge gallery of pet look-a-likes, earlier this year, we are thrilled to be working closely with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home again. It’s a common belief that pets can look like their owners, so what better way to find these long-standing residents a home than by launching a nationwide search for their human look-a-likes? We are nation of pet lovers and as it’s such a good cause we are confident that the public will really get behind this fun campaign and produce some fantastic look-a-like photos.”
The campaign will run until Thursday 25th January and hopes to find some of Battersea’s loneliest residents a new home.
Commenting on the initiative, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s Centre Manager Robert Young said, “We’re thrilled to be working with My Nametags on this fun initiative and we hope it will help the dogs in our care to find a home. Some of our dogs – like Eddie, Serena and Diesel – have been with us for over 100 days and this is a way to help spread the word about all the love they have to offer.”

Launch of the Official Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Nametags
As an added way to support the charity, and to give pet lovers nationwide a chance to buy official Battersea Dogs & Cats Home name tags, either for their pets or themselves, My Nametags has created a range of iron on and sticker name labels dedicated to animals at the charity. A percentage of the sales from the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home labels will go towards supporting the charity.
Fans of furry friends can now choose from cat designs, ‘Smudge’ and ‘Lola’, or dog designs ‘Alfie’ and ‘Ollie’.
