There will be many a tear shed on the Coronation Street cobbles this Christmas when Weatherfield waves goodbye to iconic character Gail Platt.
Soap stalwart Helen Worth has played the character for 50 years, but she will bow out of the ITV show later this year.
What will happen to Gail in her final weeks on the cobbles has been speculated about as some scrooge-like soap supporters are convinced she will be bumped off.
Gambling.com TV ExpertJames Leyfield has been monitoring the soap world and has created a number of markets based around iconic character Gail Platt and the potential return of Helen Flanagan.

Gail To Meet Her Maker?
This could be the ultimate way for Helen to leave the show, too, but it doesn’t seem very Gail Platt-like, and the Rovers Return regular is 8/15 to depart Weatherfield of her own accord instead.
Gail Down The Aisle
Gail is just 8/13 to walk down the aisle for a seventh time, but Kate admitted the festive plot will be “classic Corrie with a bit of a twist”.
That could mean Gail and Jesse may fail to tie the knot, which is 13/8.
Rosie’s Return
Following Helen Flanagan’s latest comments, she is just 4/7 to return to the soap next year.
It’s also 8/13 she makes a comeback by the end of the year, but that doesn’t leave much time, while it’s a massive 10/1 that she doesn’t ever step foot on the cobbles again.
But it’s surely only a matter of time before Rosie rocks up in Weatherfield again.
