100 days into the new Welsh Labour Government, First Minister – Carwyn Jones – appears to have broken his first election pledge already.

Mr Jones pledged to investigate the future of Betsi Cadwaladr health board, vowing to hold a public consultation within 100 days.

That deadline passed last Tuesday.

Commenting for the Welsh Conservatives, Aberconwy AM, Janet Finch-Saunders, said;

“With public confidence in Betsi Cadwaladr at an all-time low, this is a deadline the Welsh Labour Government really ought to have met.

“One would have hoped that engaging with the public would have been an immediate priority for the government which led the health board into special measures in the first place.

“North Wales residents deserve a health service they can be proud of, and not one that lurches from one crisis to the next.”
