Coronavirus – tifgroup issues guidance to travellers on insurance cover during overseas trips
With the coronavirus continuing to spread, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) updating its advice daily, it can be difficult to work out if your travel insurance policy will cover you for trips abroad.
To help travellers understand how they might be affected, tifgroup, Britain’s leading travel insurer, has created an easy-to-use infographic to allow travellers to work out if their policy will cover them for foreign travel.
The flow chart asks a series of simple questions that help answer what everyone is asking – is it safe to travel? And will I be covered by my travel insurance policy?
tifgroup’s Head of Product, Steve Howard, said: “With the situation changing almost by the hour it can be difficult for people to work out how it might affect them.
“We have a team monitoring the situation constantly, so we thought it would be useful for travellers to be able to quickly work out how the coronavirus might affect their travel arrangements. The situation can appear confusing and complicated so we hope this simple visual aid will help people understand what their travel insurance will cover.”
