Staff and patients in Amman Valley Hospital had an unexpected arrival last week following the first birth in the hospital for many years, and in the hospital where the first NHS baby, Aneira Thomas, was born in 1948.

Congratulations to Lyndsey and Damien, whose baby boy was delivered safely by community midwives Sharon Jones and Claire Itzstein.

Hospital staff and patients clapped and cheered (at distance) as mum, dad and baby were transferred to Singleton Hospital
