Two weeks of half term activities came to an end with their joint Action for Children Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion young carers services online Halloween session.

The services have been conducting their 121 and group support sessions online throughout the pandemic and the half term break gave them the perfect chance to have fun together.

Pembrokeshire Young Carers family support practitioner, Vikki Phillips, said: ‘We dressed up, made ghost biscuits, had a pumpkin scavenger hunt and a held staff versus young carers quiz. We also did magic drawings and the hour-long session was filled with fun, lots of laughter and general chaos but we had the best turnout for the online group so far.’

Other activities over the two weeks included cake baking, art sessions with the VC gallery, cooking with Healthspire and a general young carers catch up session.

Vikki added: ‘It has continued to be a very challenging time for our young carers who already shoulder huge responsibility.  We have carried on delivering support to our young people whatever the virus threw at us and it was important to have fun together during the half term break.’
