Building Blocks Help Kids

Llwynhendy Events Committee, in partnership with Communities First have donated over £2000 of Lego to Brynteg School to be used as part of an after school club.

The Lego was purchased through funding received from Communities First Trust Fund, and will not only benefit Brynteg School, but will form part of a toy library which will allow other organisations within Llwynhendy to access the resources too.

Development Officer, Gillian Handscomb said “the lego sessions will allow the children to learn about the built environment, as they will be building fire stations, police cars, trains, oil tankers etc and at the same time they will learn about road safety, fire hazards etc.”

“They will also learn about various jobs such as farming, police, rail service, lorry drivers, which will link in to another project the school are involved with also.  The after school club will be accessible by all, as the Lego sets are for ages 3 – 14yrs.”
