A 17 year old youth has been arrested by officers on suspicion of theft following a series of catalytic converter thefts across the county.

The youth has admitted to 9 offences between 13th and 24th April this year.

He has been bailed to a later date.

“This arrest has come about thanks to forensic evidence and the diligence and hard work of local officers,” said Detective Sergeant Antony Panter. “The arrest goes to show that it doesn’t matter how long it’s been since a crime was committed, officers will continue to investigate.

“It should be a warning to criminals that we are out there and we are watching.”
