THE massively popular TV Come Dancing series is having a beneficiary affect on social habits and health in Ammanford.
More and more are tripping the light fantastic with numbers attending a series of dances at the Amman Centre in Ammanford doubling this year.
The down side is there there is a shortage of men stepping forward on to the dance floor to take their partners.
So the appeal is out this Easter for more to come forward to strut their stuff – just as Robbie Savage and Russell Grant did on Come Dancing.

Community Service Volunteers’ Welcome Friends Project and Age Cymru Sir Gar’s Befriending Links have teamed up with dance instructor Jon Dunbar to host the events.
Next dates are April 7th and 21st from 2-4pm and fortnightly thereafter until further notice. Everyone aged 50-plus is welcome. Dancing includes ballroom, Latin and line dancing and the afternoon includes teaching as well as social dances.
The entrance fee is £3 and refreshments are available.
One of the organisers Rhian Davies said: “We are are really pleased with the turnout which increased from 20 to 40 in March alone. But it would be good to see more men willing to learn some basic steps and partner the many women.”
Colleague organiser Anne May said those attending this year said they had seen tremendous health benefits with the dancing helping to boost their stamina and mobility.
