A Llanelli woman has been fined £200 for dropping a chocolate bar wrapper on the street.

Carmarthen Magistrates heard that Claire Marie Evans, of Gathen Terrace, Glanymor Road, Llanelli, was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice after the incident near her home.

Rhian Young, prosecuting for Carmarthenshire County Council, said that two environmental enforcement officers were driving along Gathen Terrace when they saw saw Claire Evans walking along.

“She was eating a chocolate bar and was seen dropping the wrapper onto the floor,” she said.

She agreed to accept a Fixed Penalty Notice but did not pay it despite a reminder and was prosecuted as a result.

Evans, who did not attend court, was convicted in her absence and fined £200 and ordered to pay £211.18 costs and a £20 surcharge.
