CCTV footage in Llanelli has revealed that the damage to the bus shelter at Eastgate was not vandalism.

A road traffic collision was responsible for the damage which had at first appeared to be caused by vandals.

However, footage recorded by the CCTV camera at Eastgate shows that it was a car accident, which had been reported.

Executive Board Member for Community Safety Cllr Pam Palmer said: “The CCTV cameras are still operating and recording, they were used in this case to determine how the damage was caused to the bus shelter.

“I hope this reassures people that although there will not be live monitoring, the cameras are still recording.”
