Hundreds of people and dogs visited Scolton Manor for the popular ‘Paws in the Park’ dog show.

The show attracted an estimated 500 people and their four legged friends.

As well as the pedigree and novelty dog shows, there were craft and trade stalls, agility demonstrations, pony rides, Barn and Bengal Eagle owls, children’s rides/bouncy castle etc, and stands from animal rescue centres (Green Acres Animal Rescue and Dogs Trust).

Aberporth Dog Club had a range of agility and rally demonstrations as well as ‘have a go’ activities for visitors.

Raffle prizes were donated from local attractions and businesses including: Folly Farm, Oakwood, Pembroke Castle, Heatherton, Anna’s Welsh Zoo, Blue Lagoon Water Park, Clerkenhill Adventure Farm, Vincent Davies, Tesco in Haverfordwest and Scolton Manor.

All the money raised by the raffle will be donated to local animal charities.

The winners included Best Puppy: Mo the Boston Terrier (owned by Anne Connor) Best in Show: Chico the Chihuahua (owned by Joe Canning) and Best Rescues: Dillon (owned by Gemma Torn) and Juno (owned by Thomas Dunn)

“We’d like to thank All Pets Vet Care in Milford for sponsoring the dog show, Green Acres Animal Rescue for help with the parking, Bonville’s Court Holiday Park for loaning marquees and all those who helped and supported the event,” said Terina Wells, Parks Officer and one of the organisers.
