A Felingwm man has been fined £150 for failing to demolish an agricultural building put up without planning permission.
Ian Hall was served with an enforcement notice by Carmarthenshire County Council requiring the demolition of a large building he erected without planning permission at Ty Crug, Pontynyswen, Llanfynydd.
He appealed the notice and the appeal was dismissed requiring him to demolish the building. He failed to do so within the allocated time period and was prosecuted.
The local planning authority again allowed him a period of time to demolish the building but again he ignored the requests.
Mr Hall, of Caravan, Hill View, Felingwm, pleaded guilty at Carmarthen Magistrates Court last Friday to an offence contrary to Section 179 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
He was fined for £150 and ordered to pay £200 towards prosecution costs and a victim surcharge of £20.
He was advised that he should demolish the building and that if he does not do so, the council will undertake the demolition works by default and he will be invoiced for the costs.
Council executive board member for enforcement Cllr Jim Jones said: “The local planning authority will investigate all breaches of planning control. We will not accept flagrant disregard of planning legislation.”
