A proposal to build an extra dwelling on a Pembroke housing estate has failed.

Leeann Jones wanted to create one new dwelling adjacent to 48 St Ann’s Crescent.

Her application for planning permission was refused by Pembrokeshire County Council last May and she appealed against that decision.

But Planning Inspector Melissa Hall ruled that the proposed two-storey dwelling – sited on a prominent corner plot currently forming part of the side garden of Number 48 – would have “an oppressive effect” on a neighbouring property.

She said the occupants of ‘Nevada’ to the rear of the appeal site would experience a significant loss of daylight, particularly in the afternoon.
