One of our dedicated litter pickers sent this to me:-
Have just had some horrible news from a close friend who was walking her
daughter’s dog at the ponds in Burry Port
She saw three packets of bread which the dog seemed interested in. When
she opened her mouth she saw that the dog had swallowed metres of
fishing line. She rushed her to the vet’s and it was discovered that the
dog had indeed swallowed a fishing hook. The poor dog is waiting to be
admitted to an animal hospital for hopefully the safe removal of the
hook either by endoscope or else by major surgery. There was also
evidence that she had ingested some tissue-like material.
