NSPCC Cymru comment on sentencing of Shaun Wakefield

An NSPCC Cymru spokesperson said: “Wakefield’s appalling actions are an all-too-familiar example of the way predators like him target and groom young people on social media.

“The NSPCC’s Wild West Web campaign is calling for the UK government to create an independent regulator to fine tech companies that don’t do enough to catch groomers.”

Advice for parents is also available on the NSPCC and O2’s online safety helpline – 0808 800 5002. Children can call Childline confidentially, 24/7 365 days a year, at 0800 1111.
