Carmarthen Town Centre Base Means More Police Visibility

A new base for Carmarthen’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, in the town centre, means residents and businesses will see Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) more often.

Their office, at the old court building, Hall Street, was opened after the main police station was relocated to Llangunnor earlier this year.

Its establishment reinforces Dyfed-Powys Police’s commitment to the Carmarthen community.

Carmarthen Commander, Superintendent Gary Mills, said:

“This is a positive step and compounds the force’s commitment to maintaining a high visibility policing presence in Carmarthen town, in line with Chief Constable Mark Collins’ priorities.

“While there is no front counter provision at the office, members of the public will see more officers out and about and will be able to discuss their concerns in person. There’s also a public service point outside, where people can report crime or concerns and request to speak to an officer.

“The base will mainly be used by the Neighbourhood Policing Team but will be open for other officers to access when on patrol in the town centre.”
