NEWS UPDATE

Two charged under Modern Slavery Act

South Wales Police has this afternoon charged two men with offences under the Modern Slavery Act and assault.

South Wales Police

Anthony Howard Baker, 48, and Harvey Baker, 19, were arrested on Wednesday evening and Friday morning respectively, on suspicion of holding a person in slavery or servitude.

The men, both from Jersey Marine, Neath, have since been charged with the offences and will appear before Swansea Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Saturday, February 2nd).

A 20-year-old man is currently in hospital and is being supported by officers and specialist services.
