Carmarthenshire County Council is holding more drop-in sessions to help people renew their Concessionary Travel Cards.
Transport for Wales is rolling out new-style cards by the end of December, which will replace the current green ‘bus passes’ across Wales.
The old-style cards will not be recognised by electronic readers on buses after December 31, 2019.
The easiest way to apply for a new pass is online at www.tfw.gov.wales – however, council staff have been helping people without internet access, or who have struggled with their application.
Hundreds of people have already been supported during the November drop-in sessions, and more sessions have now been added.
Those yet to renew their cards and need help can call in to Carmarthenshire County Council’s customer service Hwbs in Stepney Street, Llanelli; Quay Street, Ammanford; and Spilman Street, Carmarthen, between 10am and 4pm from Tuesday, December 3, to Thursday, December 5.
The sessions are specifically for those wishing to renew their passes (60+, disabled and companion renewals).
Customers need to bring in their current green bus pass and have their National Insurance number to hand, or the renewal application cannot be completed.
Anyone who wishes to check the progress of a renewal application they have already submitted, or those who wish to apply for a Concessionary Travel Card for the first time, should contact Transport for Wales directly.
Once cards are renewed, Transport for Wales will issue the new cards, and although it may take a few weeks the cards should arrive by December 31.
