Viv Laing, Policy and Public Affairs Managers for NSPCC Wales, said: “It is great the Duchess of Cambridge has come to Cardiff on the day she launches her UK-wide survey on early childhood. In doing this she is helping to highlight the difference it can make when parents and carers have back and forth interactions with their child from birth and during their early years.

“Research has shown this type of engagement can help with a child’s physical and emotional development, which they carry forward into later life. It also enables parents to form a stronger bond with their child, laying the foundation for a positive relationship as they move into their teenage years.”
