Responding to the news that five police misconduct notices have been served following the death of Mohamud Mohammed Hassan shortly after being released from police custody, Plaid Cymru’s Shadow Minister for Justice and Equalities, Leanne Wood MS said,

“Every effort must be made to find the truth of what happened. The family of Mr Hassan have important questions that still need answering. They – along with a growing body of public concern – need reassurance that the case is being looked at with the fairness and transparency it so desperately needs.

“The strength shown by the family in their perseverance for justice should be commended and the IOPC investigation must move as quickly as possible.”
