The face and jaw surgery team at Buraidah’s General Hospital (central Saudi Arabia) managed on Tuesday, September 20th to end the suffering of an 18-year-old patient from a cancerous tumour in his lower jaw.
The Qassim Health cluster confirmed that the patient was transferred to the hospital’s Maxillofacial dept suffering from a tumour in the lower left jaw for 3 years. A quick decision was taken to operate on the patient and remove the affected jawbone, which was replaced by using his own leg fragment aided by 3D-printed missing parts. The operation, which ran for 15 hours, was successful and the patient is currently recovering at the hospital.
