The product presents a serious risk of fire and burns as it has been identified that the product is prone to overheating whilst in use. This could result in the product or the surrounding furniture catching fire, potentially leading to the consumer receiving burns.
The instructions supplied were deemed inadequate and some of the required documentation/markings were not present.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
The importer has recalled the product from end users.
Consumers in possession of the affected blanket should stop using the product immediately and contact their place of purchase to seek redress.
