Presented by Company of Sirens, one of Wales’ leading contemporary theatre companies, Water Wars is a visceral, dystopian drama set in a near future where water shortages ignite political conflict and personal betrayal. The play asks critical questions: Who owns the rain? What price would we pay for survival? And what happens when the world’s most basic resource becomes a battleground?

Written by Rhondda Valley-born playwright, Ian Rowlands and directed by Chris Durnall, Water Wars weaves together Welsh and English dialogue to reflect the bilingual reality of modern Wales, blending suspense, political intrigue, and deeply personal stories. The production challenges audiences to confront the stark realities of environmental degradation while celebrating the resilience of the human spirit.

Water Wars stars actor and former Artistic Director of Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, Arwel Gruffydd, and actors, Siwan Morris, Jâms Thomas and Luke Mulloy.

Chris Durnall, Artistic Director of Company of Sirens, said:

Water Wars is a deeply important piece, both for Wales and the wider world. Ian Rowlands has crafted a thrilling and thought-provoking narrative that forces us to face difficult truths about our environment and the choices we make. We are excited to bring this gripping eco-thriller to audiences at Theatrau Sir Gâr.”

Tickets are priced at £20.50 and £15.50 (concessions) and can be booked online at www.theatrausirgar.co.uk or with the box office on 0345 2263510

The production is bilingual and is suitable for ages 16+.
