Partial closure orders have been extended at two Caerphilly County Borough Council addresses in the Blackwood area to tackle criminal activity and anti-social behaviour.

Caerphilly Homes’ Anti-Social Behaviour team, in collaboration with Gwent Police and residents, secured a three-month partial closure order for the properties in March 2025. This was in response to reports of drug dealing, visitors under the influence, and disturbances at all hours, including physical violence and property damage. Thanks to vigilant residents, five arrests have been made, with three resulting in prosecutions for breaches of the orders. Due to ongoing issues, a 3-month extension was granted in June 2025.

Cllr Shayne Cook, Caerphilly Council’s Cabinet Member for Housing, stated, “We are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our residents. Extending these closure orders shows our commitment to tackling anti-social behaviour and working with the community and police to create a safer environment.”
