Carmarthenshire County Council has launched Tim Tacluso Tai, a new maintenance and cleansing service which focuses on enhancing Council owned homes and estates.

Tim Tacluso Tai will carry out small scale general maintenance and cleansing tasks to maintain and improve the appearance of Council owned homes and estates as well as supporting the Council’s Housing Repairs service with completing small scale repairs.

The new team will initially follow a scheduled programme of works, with various projects already carried out across the county in areas including Trimsaran, Ammanford, Llanelli, Porthyrhyd, Llwynhendy, Tumble and Burry Port.

The work undertaken includes the maintenance and tidying of estates; clearance of overgrowth from outside homes, car parks and communal areas; clearance and cleaning of guttering; painting of garden gates; maintenance of walls including re-bedding of coping stones; preparation for carpentry; sealing kitchen worktops and adjusting doors.

Cllr Linda Davies Evans, Cabinet Member for Homes said:

Tim Tacluso Tai has already proven to be a great success, with residents and communities throughout Carmarthenshire benefitting from the excellent work of the team.

As well as working on a scheduled programme of repairs to maintain our estates, the team will also support housing repairs by carrying out minor repairs where possible, reducing waiting times and enabling the Housing Repairs Team to focus on larger jobs.”

Tim Tacluso Tai has been developed following the success of Carmarthenshire County Council’s Tim Tacluso, an initiative aimed at enhancing the cleanliness and appearance of town centres.
