Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking the views of its residents on several key areas to understand how they feel about the Council’s performance and to inform its future planning and priority setting.

The County Council would like to hear from you, to know how you would prioritise areas for investment as its Residents Survey looks to better understand what are the most pressing challenges facing Carmarthenshire residents and their families.
Over 3,500 residents took part in last year’s survey, with the findings of the 2024 survey shared across the County Council’s departments to consider in their planning for the year ahead. Building on the feedback gathered last year, the Local Authority is asking its residents and service users’ for their views again to shape its decision-making, at what is a challenging time for all local authorities across Wales.
Cllr Philip Hughes, Cabinet member for Organisation and Workforce said:
Carmarthenshire County Council, like all local authorities, face a period of increasing demand on its services, in a time where resources, be it financial or otherwise, are decreasing. Our priority has always been to do the best for our residents and service users, but we must all be realistic about what that looks like in the future.
It is very important, therefore that as many people who live in Carmarthenshire take part in our Residents Survey, to give us the best chance of delivering services which meet their needs.”
Consultation with residents on performance is a key requirement of the Local Government and Elections Act. The 2025 Carmarthenshire Residents Survey is the fourth in a developing conversation with residents in this respect.
