Carmarthenshire’s outdoor markets bring colour, flavour and character to the county’s three largest towns every week – Llanelli on Thursdays, Ammanford on Fridays and Carmarthen on Saturdays.Once a month these are boosted by specialist artisan markets run by Green Top Markets.

Green Top Markets, funded through the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, give local makers, growers, and food producers the chance to showcase high-quality produce, crafts, and street food. Traders are supported with professional marquees, display guidance, and promotional backing from the Carmarthenshire County Council – helping small businesses thrive.

Green Top Market dates:

·       Llanelli – Thursday 11 September & Thursday 9 October

·       Ammanford – Friday 12 September & Friday 10 October

·       Carmarthen – Saturday 13 September & Saturday 11 October

Alongside these monthly events, the weekly outdoor markets continue to attract steady visitor numbers, demonstrating their vital role in supporting local traders and keeping town centres vibrant.

Local traders can register with Carmarthenshire Markets by visiting the Markets section of the Council’s website.

Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor to Carmarthenshire, the markets are the perfect place to enjoy homemade food and drink, find a one-of-a-kind gift, or simply soak up the lively atmosphere.

Cabinet Member for Rural Affairs, Planning and Community Cohesion, Cllr Carys Jones, said:

“These markets provide an important platform for local traders to showcase their products, while also helping to support the county’s economy by attracting both residents and visitors.

Supporting these events is key to maintaining vibrant town centres and encouraging sustainable local growth.”
