Dog fouling is not just unpleasant, it’s a public health hazard and impacts our communities. Carmarthenshire County Council is calling on residents to help identify individuals who have been caught on CCTV failing to clean up after their dogs in Carmarthen.

The incidents occurred on Lammas Street, and images show two separate offenders ignoring their responsibility to keep our streets clean. This behaviour is unacceptable and undermines the efforts of responsible dog owners.

It is hoped that residents may be able to assist in identifying the two individuals.

Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Cabinet member with responsibility for Environmental Enforcement, Cllr Aled Vaughan Owen said:

Once again, we are appealing to the public for help in identifying individuals who have been recorded failing to clean up after their dogs.

Our Environment Enforcement team remains committed to taking action against anyone who breaches environmental regulations in Carmarthenshire, and I urge the small minority of dog owners who do not pick up after their pets to change their behaviour.”

  1. The person in this photograph has been located and the issue regarding alleged dog fouling has been sorted. The offending dog mess was cleared up and the footage only showed part of the dog fouling not the person alleged CLEANING up the dog mess.

Some footage shown only shows A PART of the incident.

Please now TAKE this POST down as displaying it any more than is necessary is unacceptable and unfair to this person.

  2. Dog fouling offences. Brilliant.
Local government act 1888,section 78,subsection 2-no council can act in the capacity of a court by issuing fines, penalties or notices. Or words to that effect.
Which is why they employ private companies to issue the fines and take a cut of the money-they know they have no legal basis to do it. And no private company can issue you a fine unless you e breached a previously held contract with them, which doesn’t exist.
No recourse for cats or horses shit, just dogs shit. Because they are an easy target-like motorists.
Know your rights, say no to unlawful council fines.

  3. That’s the classic oh I didn’t notice my dog was having a poo look. See it’ll the time on the green. Surprising how many people don’t pick it up.
