The first Carmarthenshire Wedding Showcase, held at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, was a major success and attracted over 100 attendees from across the county’s wedding sector.
The event welcomed venue owners, accommodation providers and wedding suppliers, reflecting a strong balanced local industry.
Organised by Carmarthenshire County Council’s Tourism Development team and funded by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, the event opened with an inspirational business breakfast at Ty Melyn. Guest speaker Tomas Philips, co-founder of Blackline Academy, delivered a keynote on collaboration and business growth towards 2026, setting an ambitious tone for the day.
More than 40 exhibitors took part in the business-to-business showcase, which also included innovative workshops on social media, AI and video content creation. These sessions provided practical insights to help businesses strengthen their digital presence and future-proof their operations.
Carmarthenshire Registrars and Celebrants were on hand throughout the event, sparking valuable discussions and encouraging closer collaboration across the sector. This gave attendees the opportunity to make numerous new connections, explore partnership opportunities and leave with renewed confidence in the county’s wedding offer.
The event also saw the launch of a new online directory of Carmarthenshire wedding businesses, supporting local suppliers and helping to keep wedding spend within the county.
The Showcase forms part of Carmarthenshire County Council’s wider tourism campaign promoting the county as the most romantic place in Wales and marks an important step in strengthening collaboration and growth across the local wedding industry.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism, Hazel Evans, said:
The success of the inaugural Carmarthenshire Wedding Showcase highlights the strength and creativity of Carmarthenshire’s wedding industry. Bringing venues, accommodation providers, suppliers, and registrars together demonstrated the power of collaboration, with new connections and ideas already emerging. The event marks an important step in supporting local businesses and strengthening Carmarthenshire’s reputation as one of the best places in Wales to get married.”
