Responding to the financial support for businesses announced by Welsh Government, Pete Robertson, Chief Executive, FDF Cymru, said:

“FDF Cymru welcomes the news that the Welsh Government has announced further funding support packages for businesses. As key suppliers into the hospitality sector, food and drink manufacturers will also be happy to see that the Welsh Government has recognised that challenges are not only being felt in hospitality businesses, but also further up the food supply chain.

“Businesses will also be pleased that business rates relief and grants from the Economic Resilience Fund (ERF) will be issued within days, rather than weeks, giving them some reassurance that cashflow issues that arise over Christmas and the New Year will be recovered to some extent in January 2022.”
