Dear Editor,

If offshore, floating  wind turbines, as in “Erebus” in the Celtic Sea , are deemed the best innovation since sliced bread, why is Welsh Climate Change Minister, Julie James, so hell-bent on wrecking our superb, natural Welsh landscapes , and thereby our crucial Welsh tourism industry, with hundreds of gargantuan 820 ft high  onshore wind turbines….. which are so vast, they’ll be clearly visible from 30 miles radius ?  “Datamap Wales  of Pre-Assessed Wind Energy Areas” ,right across the length and breadth of Wales ,prove my point.

Has Ms James no concept of the visual effect of erecting  dozens of revolving, fully-lit machines 720 ft to 820 ft in height, and whose blade diameters equal 520 ft……the height of Blackpool Tower……atop  Welsh mountains  up to 2000 feet high?

Is she trying to tell us they will be invisible?

Can she also explain why even little, tiny 150 ft wind turbines [only the height of Nelson’s Column] are now banned across  England…….which is where our Welsh electricity is being  used?

Yours faithfully,

    L.J Jenkins,

    Clyn-yr-ynys,

    Gwbert,

    Cardigan,

    Ceredigion.
