Before the day of viewing this next story piece of the latest phase of the MCU, I would say I and everyone else knew not to expect an outcome that would be at all positive.
All I can really say is that we were all spot on. This movie was so terrible – It has almost made me never want to watch another MCU production for the rest of my life! – The only thing I can say that was remotely good about it was Goose! The Flerken that so happens to look like an earth cat. Goose was the only thing I found mildly entertaining next to Nick Fury! Yes, Fury hasn’t been as great as he has been in the past, but still not bad.
Captain Marvel still has a bit of a cheesy aspect to her. Plus, this – was not improved by having teamed up with two light-based ”heroes” by her side – The two heroes were Captain Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan. Monica Rambeau is an astronaut who – in no way – wants to be classed as a hero alongside the Avengers.Kamaka Khan is an unbearable, overzealous super fan who copyrighted her name after Captain Marvel. Whis was, you guessed it, Ms Marvel.
As a result, I can’t think of anything more irritating than a superhero trio that offers absolutely nothing to a major franchise. Even the main antagonist was a phenomenal bust. Especially since there was zero build-up to her part in an upcoming story! And I don’t know what it was about, but she was – just so – irritating.
As a whole, we have an annoying team of heroes. A very irritating villain who came out of nowhere. A moderately good Nick Fury and a cat who kinda stole the show. If I were to advise anyone for any reason to see this – epic fail – it would definitely be for the mid-credit scene. It opens up a future project that has been talked about around the water cooler. So to speak. But I think that reason alone will get the fans a little bit excited.
Markes out of ten, you may ask? I would say with no issue that it would be a solid 1,5… maybe a 2.
It’s no wonder The Marvels made $45 million on opening release day!
