The Diocese of St Davids is encouraging people from across Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion to come together for a special Service of Praise and Thanksgiving, followed by a Harvest Supper, at Carmarthen Mart on Sunday, 25 October 2026.
The evening will bring together members of the farming community, local churches and the wider public to celebrate the harvest, give thanks for those who work in agriculture and raise funds for two organisations providing vital support to rural families and communities.
Beginning at 7pm, the service will be led by the Revd Wyn Maskell, with an address delivered by the Revd Wyn Thomas.
The service will be followed by a Harvest Supper, offering an opportunity for those attending to enjoy food, fellowship and conversation while supporting two important causes.
Proceeds from the evening will go towards Tir Dewi and Plant Dewi, two organisations working to support individuals and families across rural west Wales.
Tir Dewi provides practical and emotional support to members of the farming community facing difficulties, recognising the unique pressures and challenges associated with agricultural life.
Plant Dewi, a family support initiative of the Diocese of St Davids, works with families and communities across the region, offering support, encouragement and opportunities to help children and families thrive.
The event reflects the importance of agriculture to communities across the Diocese and the longstanding relationship between the Church and the farming community.
The Diocese hopes the evening will provide an opportunity not only to celebrate the harvest, but also to recognise the importance of supporting those who may be facing difficulties in their everyday lives.
