Thursday 6th March – Welsh Symphonic Brass Ensemble: Brass Through The Ages

Hotel Plas Hyfryd, Narberth

The first of Span Arts’ new classical series sees a group of talented musicians take the stage. Hosted at Narberth’s Plas Hyfryd hotel, the evenings involve food cooked by the hotel’s chef, a bar open til late and of course a wonderful live performance. The Ensemble draw in the crowds with their distinctive mixture of light classics, popular standards and jazz favourites.

Tickets: £10 adv. £12 on the door. Members and concessions £9 adv. £11 on the door.

Thursday 13th March – Comedy Club: Benny Boot and Jonnie Price with compere Angela Barnes.

The Queens Hall, Narberth

This month’s comedy club brings laughter from an Australian and a Welshman, with an award winning female compere. Benny Boot is a quirky and original comedian, who was an NBC Last Comic Standing finalist, and a Guardian top pick at the Edinburgh festival in 2011. Our second headliner is Jonnie Price, who has been described as ‘Billy Connelly on steroids’, also memorable for his warmth, charm and wit that he brings to the stage every time he performs. Compere for the evening is highly-talented and BBC New Comedy Award winning Angela Barnes.

Friday 14th March – Babyhead

The Queens Hall, Narberth

The Bristol-based band returns to Narberth with their skank-rock sounds. The 8-piece have recorded a full show of new material ranging from hyper-interactive jump-up ska through horn-blasting skank rock to bass-driven hip-hopumentary on love, life and politics in these revolutionary times. Support comes from two of Pembrokeshire’s most energetic bands, Beneath the Reef and Blitz!

Wednesday 19th March – SpanJazz: Graham Pike

The Dingle Caravan Park, Narberth

Talented composer and musician Graham Pike joins us for the monthly jazz night at The Dingle. Graham’s sets are varied and extraordinary with a large repertoire, and he covers many eras. He’s a multi-talented and prolific character, a sparkling performer on trumpet, harmonica, flugelhorn and trombone. He’ll be supported on the night by local favourites the John Gibbon Trio.

Thursday 27th March – Faustus

The Queens Hall, Narberth

Highly acclaimed supergroup Faustus specialise in powerful delivery, faultless harmonies and inspired arrangements. Their recent album Broken Down Gentlemen received high praise from both the mainstream press and the specialist folk critics, and are garnering similar support for their compelling live shows. Plus support. Made up from members of Bellowhead, Seth Lakeman Band and Waterson:Carthy showcasing their talent on guitar, oboe, violin, melodeon and their wonderful voices.
