THE Online Watch Link (OWL) messaging service is going from strength to strength.

The membership of OWL has increased significantly from 3,000 a year ago to 5,108.

OWL was launched two years ago aimed at fighting crime and involves businesses, Watch schemes and residents receiving regular, local, relevant crime prevention messages, alerts and information.

The scheme continues to be proactively marketed by the CSP and local neighbourhood policing teams. A total of 595 messages have been sent out in the last year.

The scheme is being evaluated and the findings will inform the future development of the scheme.
