Llanelli AM Keith Davies is being treated in hospital for an infection and fever.
Mr Davies was admitted to a local hospital on Monday following tests at the town’s Prince Philip Hospital.
Keith Davies has had to cancel a number of engagements at this year’s Eisteddfod which is being held in the town.
Commenting Mr Davies AM said:
“I am very disappointed not to have been able to be part of the Eisteddfod this week. I have championed the event in Llanelli and encouraged the town in supporting the Eisteddfod this year.
“In the meantime, my office remains open and it is very much a case of business as usual in terms of dealing with local concerns. I look forward to getting back to work as quickly as I can.”
