Continuing our beginner’s guide to the Star Wars universe we look at Lightsabers.
What is a light saber?
At the flip of a switch the Lightsaber activates a power cell that delivers energy to a lightsaber crystal through a polished metal hilt about a foot long. This therefore projects a blade about a distance of 3-4 feet long, before the energy charge arcs back on itself that creates a full circuit. This is a signature weapon of the Jedi/Sith
There are also double sided lightsabers and, as revealed in the new trailer, a form of lightsaber with energy outputs on the hilt created a lightsaber guard.
Types of lightsaber crystals affect the blade colours. The difference in colour originate different classes of the Jedi order. Red is the only colour to have ever been used by the Sith.
