What a few weeks!

We’ve now entered February. Another month! It really seems like one month vanishes within seconds into another month. What a last few weeks its been! The election really is around the corner…

It was great to welcome Plaid Cymru party leader Leanne Wood to Llanelli for a day of campaiging on Saturday the 24th of January. It was also brilliant to welcome yet more new members to our ever growing Plaid Ifanc Llanelli team – thank you so much for your help and assistance. Regardless of politics I’m sure we’d all agree that it’s brilliant to see young people taking an active interest and wanting to build a better future for Llanelli. We also met with market-stall holders and local shop owners in the morning as well as people in the town centre. That afternoon it was off knocking doors and speaking to voters in a town centre ward. Many issues were raised such as Westminster austerity, the local health service and the town centre.

After a full day of teaching on Thursday the 29th it was off to a meeting with Helen Mary Jones and local shop owners from Llanelli town centre to discuss the way forward for the town. Thanks for those who attended, it was great to share ideas and discuss what can be done. Diolch!

Saturday the 31st of January was once again hectic. A 6am start…! We spent the day in Pontyberem and Bancffosfelen travelling on the local bus service and greeting members of the public. Thanks also to the teams out in Hengoed and the team in the town centre. It was a great day but the weather was attrocious. Rain, wind and even snow! I was frozen as was the rest of the team. Thanks also to mam for hitting the campaign trail – it means so much to me to have your support! Diolch mam.

Finally Sunday! Again more meetings. This time with members of the public regarding ATOS. It is hard to believe how people are being treated and is totally unacceptable!

Also a huge congratulations to members of the Plaid Ifanc Llanelli team who formed part of a larger team and helped raise £480 in aid of a breast cancer charity. Having myself (like many other families) lost loved ones to cancer I’m very grateful for your efforts – you’ve done yourselves proud – da iawn i bawb!
