Local bus operators are supporting the national campaign ‘Catch the Bus’ week, which is taking place across the country next week.

Their initiatives in Pembrokeshire include reduced fares and the chance to win a free bus trip to Cardiff.

The campaign between 29th June and 5th July aims to highlight the benefits of taking the bus, from reducing travel stress to saving money.

Richards Bros is offering a ticket to travel anywhere on their network during Catch the Bus week for just £14.50 a week for adults and £6.50 a week for 16 and under – meaning bus passengers could potentially travel as far as Aberystwyth and back daily.

Silcox is offering passengers entry into a prize draw to win an Awayday to Cardiff, if they contact them by Facebook or Twitter to tell them about travelling on any of their services. The promotion is being held for the whole of the campaign week.

Silcox is also offering under 16’s the chance to buy a ‘Silcox Special’ day pass for £2 for the 352, 357, 361 or Coastal Cruiser service on Saturday 4th July and/or Sunday 5th July.

Edwards Bros is also offering a special £2 day pass deal for under 16’s on the 315 and 308 services on Saturday 4th July.

And First Cymru is holding a ‘meet the manager’ opportunity on the 355 service between Milford Haven and Pembroke on Thursday, 2nd July.

Cllr Rob Lewis, Cabinet Member for Transportation said: “Our local bus operators are offering some great initiatives to celebrate the week, and highlight the advantages of using the bus.
“Not only is it an accessible and easy way to travel, it’s also affordable and available to all.”
