Carmarthenshire Roads Policing Sergeant Ian Price said: “Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of an Road Traffic Collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A48 between Porthyrhyd and Foelgastell at approx. 5.45 this morning. Two vehicles were involved, a Peugeot van and Liebherr crane. Tragically the driver of the van sustained fatal injuries. The road is closed with diversions in place until further notice. Next of kin have been informed.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the Road Traffic Collision, or was travelling eastbound or westbound along that stretch of road at around the time of the Road Traffic Collision to contact them by calling 101.”
