Carmarthenshire Communities First has backed the police in promoting sensible drinking over Christmas.

Communities First supports the Llanelli PCSOs in providing information to the public for the Paul’s Pledge campaign. The team provided alcohol awareness for shoppers at Trostre, where the public were able to come and see the display board which provided information on the effect of alcohol on the body and the recommended units.

Shoppers also had the opportunity to try the ‘Beer Goggles’ where the vision is impaired and is used to replicate the effect that overconsumption of alcohol has the on the eyesight.

The public said that they liked the informal discussion and that it made them more of aware of the importance of drinking sensibly over the festive period.
