Gamers in Swansea can learn a little while playing the latest smash hit global phenomenon.
Swansea Central Library has been inundated by scores of new young visitors over the last week because of the Pokemon Go craze that’s taken the world by storm.
Although Pokemon Go is a free-to-play, location-based reality mobile game that was released for Apple and Android phones earlier this month, anyone having issues playing this game may use Pokémon Go spoofer to play without any restrictions.
The game allows players to capture, battle and train virtual creatures, called Pokemon, who appear on phone screens as though in the real world.
Swansea Central Library is a Pokemon ‘stop’ in the game where players can go to find and capture Pokemon.
Other Swansea Council locations featured in the game include Victoria Park, Plantasia and Guildhall.
Cllr Robert Francis-Davies, Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Development and Regeneration, said: “Pokemon Go seems to have taken not just Swansea but the whole world by storm over the last week or so.
“The game is a great idea because it makes users move from location to location to play, which encourages exercise like walking and cycling.
“There’s also an added benefit of libraries including Central Library featuring in the game because many participants are being introduced for the very first time to our modern library service, which offers so many books, CDs, DVDs, clubs and other activities that benefit people of all ages. Library members can also download electronic books, electronic magazines and audio books for free.
“But while the Pokemon Go game is fun, I’d also encourage users to be mindful of traffic and other people around them because safety is of paramount importance.”
The Swansea Library Service is made up of 17 libraries across the city. A homebound service is also available for customers who are unable to access their local library.
