NEWS UPDATE
A man has been arrested following a fatal collision on the A484 between Carmarthen and Cwmffrwd.
Officers were called to the scene at 6.10am yesterday (Sunday, 12th August 2018), where a grey Volvo V50 and silver Toyota Avensis had collided.
The male driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced deceased at hospital soon after.
The driver of the other vehicle – a 25-year-old man from Carmarthen – was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving and drug driving. He was conveyed to hospital with a minor injury.
Anyone who saw either vehicle shortly before 6:10am yesterday morning is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police on 101, quoting message 71 of August 12.
The road was re-opened at 6.10pm. We thank drivers along the route and the residents nearby for their patience during the road closure.
