BREXIT – AYE OR NAY!

Brexit seems to be a rather controversial topic currently with many of you engaging on our online posts. The West Wales Chronicle has asked members of the general public the following questions:

• What do you think of the current Brexit deal?
• Should the MPs back it?
• Finally, what would your personal Brexit deal consist of?

Here’s what people have said!

Helen Davies:

“I can’t comment, this is because I have absolutely no idea what the Brexit deal is and as usual the conservatives will back it and the rest will vote against.”

Jason Davies of First Choice Flooring in Pembrey:

“It’s all a waste of time and money to be honest. All the money that has been wasted on advertising, all the printing of fliers, paperwork etc. Do you think the Dutch and the Belgians are going to stop supplying carpets to the UK? The Germans and the French are not going to send us cars? They should just cut the cord from them, get everything back British and use the money to buy back all the companies the government sold! Get the factories up and running which will create jobs and get the pounds back on top!”

Rt Dr Reverend Ryan Cleminson DD Metropolitan of St David’s and The Holy Trinity Progressive Catholic Church UK commented:

“It is an appalling deal. It merely buys time at the cost of a considerably weaker negotiating position for the UK. But the EU has already said it will not renegotiate it. If this deal fails, then the options are still no-deal Brexit, or no Brexit. The government has no mandate for either, and nor does either option command a majority in parliament.

“All roads seem now to lead to either a general election, or a second referendum. I know some of the MPs come from leave constituencies but what people didn’t vote for is to be poorer so no. To remain as we are, I voted to remain in the EU!”
