Rob James – Labour Leader

On the news that the Chief Executive of Carmarthenshire Council will retire in June of this year, Labour Leader Councillor Rob James stated ‘This Local Authority will begin a new chapter in our history in June.

“I will be meeting with the Plaid Cymru and Independent Leaders to ascertain what terms and package for departure have been agreed and the timetable for finding a new Chief Executive next week.

Wales longest serving council Chief Executive Mark James is to retire in June

“I have long argued that the remuneration for our senior management team should be reduced, in an effort to save valuable frontline services from austerity and I will be making the case in the coming months to reduce the salary of the next Chief Executive.”
