A retired detective constable who continues to dedicate her time to helping to tackle serious organised crime has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Caroline Headon, who is currently an Operations Manager from Tarian, the Regional Organised Crime Unit for Southern Wales, has been awarded an OBE.
Caroline started her career in March 1977 with Dyfed Powys Police before moving to the Number 8 Regional Crime Squad. She then progressed to roles within the National Crime Intelligence Service (NCIS), the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA).
Following her retirement in 2009, she joined Tarian as an operations manager.
Head of Protective Services at Tarian, Detective Chief Superintendent Steve Corcoran, said: “I am delighted to see Caroline’s dedicated and lengthy service and commitment to tackling serious organised crime has been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
“Her knowledge and expertise has not only helped to protect the communities in the southern region of Wales, but also those nationally. Caroline proved herself to be a real asset to Tarian, and I’ve no doubt every organisation and department to which she has contributed would be in agreement.
“I’m sure colleagues throughout the country will join me in congratulating her on this well-deserved achievement.”
