Volunteer Walks to raise vital funds for Foodbanks

Emyr‌ ‌Evans,‌ ‌Director‌ ‌of‌ ‌‌‌Red Brand Media ‌and‌ ‌volunteer‌ ‌with‌ ‌Pembrey‌ ‌and‌ ‌Burry‌ ‌Port‌ ‌Foodbank,‌ ‌and‌ ‌Radio‌ ‌BGM‌ ‌for‌ ‌Prince‌ ‌Philip‌ ‌Hospital,‌  ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌doing a sponsored walk ‌13 ‌miles‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌Millennium‌ ‌Coastal‌ ‌Park.‌  

‌Emyr‌ ‌will‌ ‌be doing it‌ ‌to‌ ‌raise‌ ‌funds‌ ‌for‌ ‌Llanelli‌ ‌Surplus‌ Food‌ ‌Distribution,‌

CETMA’s Pembrey & Burry Port Foodbank, Feed a family for Xmas & surplus food distribution, also Llwynhendy, Cross Hands, Llannon and Amman Valley  This‌ ‌is‌  ‌to‌ ‌help‌ ‌them‌ ‌to‌ ‌continue‌ ‌with‌ ‌the‌ ‌extremely‌ ‌good‌ ‌work‌ ‌they‌ ‌have‌ ‌been‌ ‌carrying‌ ‌out‌ ‌during‌ ‌lockdown,‌ ‌in‌ ‌supplying‌ ‌food‌ ‌to‌ ‌those‌ ‌who‌ ‌have‌ ‌been‌ ‌shielding‌ ‌or‌ ‌are‌ ‌unable‌ ‌to‌ ‌go‌ ‌out‌ ‌to‌ ‌shop‌ ‌for‌ ‌food.‌ ‌

Mr‌ ‌Evans‌ ‌will‌ ‌be‌ ‌walking‌ ‌the‌ ‌Coastal‌ ‌Path‌ ‌beginning‌ ‌from‌ ‌Bynea‌ ‌Car‌ ‌Park‌  ‌to‌ ‌Pembrey‌ ‌Country‌ ‌Park‌ ‌on‌ ‌Saturday‌ ‌October‌ ‌31‌.‌

Pembrey and Burry Port Foodbank team leader Amanda Evans and Cetma’s Feed a Family for Xmas coordinator Vikki Carrott both said.  “What Emyr Evans is doing is an amazing thing that is going to help so many people with in our communities and we can not thank him enough for including us in the list of foodbanks that he has chosen to support. The difference that this will make to the foodbank and also the Christmas hampers means that we will be able to help more people who are going through desperate times and thanks to Emyr we will be able to take some of the strain of them.”

The Gwendraeth Foodbank feel so honoured to be one of the foodbanks supported by monies raised, it is vital for families and individuals across Llannon, Gorslas and Pontyberem wards.  

“In addition to distributing vital food parcels we also host welfare and wellbeing calls to all who are accessing the foodbank”
