Yesterday (Tuesday 14th September) Member of the Senedd for Mid and West Wales and Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Jane Dodds MS has called for clarity from the Welsh government on action to tackle NHS dentistry challenges in Powys Teaching Health Board and Hywel Dda Teaching Health Board.

Commenting, Jane Dodds said:

“Over the summer my post bag and inbox has been inundated by stories of people across Mid Wales struggling to get an appointment with an NHS dentist.

“People have reported having to travel long distances for treatment, unable to book appointments for weeks on end, and unable to register children at their local practice. I have also heard from patients who have ben unable to get an emergency appointment.

“This problem isn’t a new one, and it’s time local health leaders and the Welsh Government got to grips with our NHS dentistry crisis in mid Wales.”
